The Muslim Jewish Forum of Greater Manchester
Established to develop the cultural and social ties between the Muslim and Jewish communities of Greater Manchester
20 May 2016
The Muslim Jewish Forum of Greater Manchester are deeply saddened to learn that, for the second time in two years, Jewish graves in Blackley Cemetery in Manchester have been vandalised.
Desecration of the last resting place of our loved ones is often done to hurt and offend the living. It is a disgusting act, often indulged in by bigots, and something Jews and Muslims in Britain have suffered on all too many occasions.
We hope that the perpetrators are found and brought to justice as quickly as possible. Such depraved, cowardly and racist behaviour has no place in our society.
Cllr Heather Fletcher and Mohammed Amin, Forum Co-Chairs.
